Fashion Photoshoot!

Just recently worked on a couple photoshoots with some classmates for a project in our Fashion Journalism class! My dear friend and roommate, Bo, was so kind to model for us and really let us work our magic with such short notice and lack of materials. She looks absolutely stunning! Here's a small preview of what my team and I have been working on. I'll post our actual project once we are done with editing and printing.

Summer Breeze

The most wonderful time of the year? Summer, in my opinion:)

I took a few trips to the local fabric store recently and searched around for some cool swimwear fabrics. Not the best of luck but some fun pinks, blues, and oranges caught my attention. It took a few tries to make a swim bottom pattern but I ended with something funky and cute!

My friend Hope here is modeling her swim bottoms I made for her.

I was inspired to make these bottoms from a pair she wished to have while searching the web!

Hopefully Ill have more pics of some swimwear up soon:)

DIY AMERICAN FLAG SHORTS

I tend to stalk/follow (whatever you want to call it) fashion blogs 24/7. I came across a fun DIY post on the Free People blog explaining how to make those oh so popular American Flag cutoffs. I went out and bought the materials it called for, gathered my closest friends, and had a blast creating our cute little shorts. What perfect time! Fourth of July is just around the corner!

Wore On Wednesday

Wednesday's... ahhh my break from the usual grind of things. Ill be trying to post at least every Wednesday an outfit of the week to keep my blog rolling and my viewers interested:)

Here I am pictured in an H&M skirt and a bralette gifted by my mom. I decided to keep it simple with no added jewelry besides an accessory I found in my mothers room.

Happy Summer!

EDC LOVERS

The Electric Daisy Carnival, better known as EDC just passed a few weeks ago. It's an out of this world music/party/festival/love adventure for most! Everyone that joins is decked out in beads, daisies, neon, and anything really imaginable. I love all the spirit and creativity in festival fashion so I decided to make my dear friend Paige (who joined the party this year:)) a cute little ensemble.

Here is Paige pictured on the left with her friend Katie. They look great!

Here is a shot of the back, my beautiful Paige!

Here is a video of 2012 EDC, check it out and join the party! I will be joining next year hopefully:)

Hello family, friends, and fashion lovers! I have finally made time to make my first post for Mamba Mermaid blog. I have been working on a few projects and decided to share my most recent. Below is a knit Ralph Lauren top that I found while thrifting:). As cute as it is...a little revamp never hurts!

Made into a summer crop top! I basically cut a triangular shape from front and back then with a seam ripper I took the arm sleeves off. I used the excess to make the ruffles sewn on the bottom.

Here are a few photos in the new top styled with a pair of BCBG drawstring slouch pants, turquoise necklace (given as a gift), and wood jewelry from Hawaii.
